As the number of US Latino internet users is growing rapidly, MySpace decided to launch its portal dedicated to this group of people. New Spanish version of MySpace will not simply be a rip-off of the English version and will not be simply its translation. Eight new bilingual communities are going to be focused on Latino celebrities like actors, singers and soccer players. Online Latinos are one of the fastest growing group of internet users in the United States. According to internet analysts, about three quarters of US Latinos are online which constitutes an great increase. In 2002 only half of them were visiting the web. No plans have been announced to create a MySpace site for US blacks yet, but I am almost sure that eventually the site with original content for this group will appear at some point of time.

Everybody knows how important it is to store some data and how crucial it is to back it up from time to time. There are a few places where you can store it:

  • Online. By this I not only mean your email account, but also services of companies that allow you (for a certain fee) to store your data on their disks.
  • External hard drives. Those usually have a large capacity and thus make it the cheapest and most effective place to store data.
  • Additional hard drives inside your PC. Just by installing additional drive in your PC you will have more space to store your precious data.
  • CDs and DVDs. Although those do not contain that much free space, their prices is not that high and you can fully rely on them.
  • I am not going to recommend a specific method, but remember that it is important to back up your data.

While a lot of tech geeks are buying a new computer every year or two, there are also people who don’t pay that much attention to their hardware. Of course this means that many programs or even operating systems such as Windows XP might not work as smoothly as the user would like. There are some tricks to improve the performance of your machine by disabling some features which Windows XP has. One of the things which many people recommend is to disable indexing. Indexing basically keeps a record of all files on your hard drive, but this is not something crucial. You can disable it to get a performance boost by going to Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools and double-clicking Services. Next, you should scroll to the indexing service, double click it and select Disabled from the Startup pull-down menu. This should improve your computer’s performance if your PC is not up to date.

The most popular website where users can upload and share their videos is Youtube. Youtube has been owned by Google for some time and it seemed that with Google’s support nothing stood in its way. Well, this might change now, because Flickr, a site which dealt with uploading images is now also going to focus on videos. What does it mean? First of all, it is good news for anyone who agrees that competition is beneficial. It is hard to say if Flickr is going to be more attractive for internet users, but either way, Youtube is going to be afraid of competition and will probably make its own service even more convenient and user friendly. Competition in the high-tech industry is always good.

Have you ever heard that online or video games can be addictive? Well, surely they are. If you do not believe me, then look at your family members or friends or rather their children who spend hours upon hours sitting in front of their computer monitors playing different games. One of the game that I found about recently and that looks to me like a lot of fun is Line Rider. Maybe it is hard to believe, but this game was originally created by a Slovenian university student who prepared it for his exam. This guy surely had a great idea. If only he knew what kind of fun other people will have while playing this game! The idea behind this game is very simple. You draw a line on a screen and when you are done, the line rider will ride on it. It will be definitely entertaining to watch.

Pay per click (also known as PPC) is one of the most effective ways to advertise your business online. The truth is that if your website is not listed in Google, or if it is not ranked high enough according to Google’s standards to appear on the first pages of your chosen keyword, the chances are high that you will not be able to succeed with your online business. Pay per click is a very powerful strategy, because you have a chance to attract customers who are willing to buy your products or services. If a person enters a keyword “shoes”, those websites which pop up as the first ones have to biggest chance to gain a new customer. PPC requires a lot of strategy and knowledge, and in fact, only few people have mastered it so far. If you would like to increase your web site promotion, then I suggest that you entrust your website to networksolutions.com.
